Gold Coast City FC wishes to respond to recent speculation surrounding the future of the club’s PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland participation licence for the 2018 season.
The club acknowledges reports are circulating about the future of Gold Coast City FC, including suggestions the club will not participate in next year’s competition.
The Gold Coast City FC participation licence for the PlayStation 4 NPL is held by Palm Beach SC.
The club acknowledges that Palm Beach SC’s Board of Directors have raised concerns about the future viability of the Gold Coast City FC program in its current form.
Palm Beach SC is working closely with relevant parties, including Gold Coast City FC staff, Football Queensland and club Academy Partner Brisbane Roar, to address these concerns.
Gold Coast City FC is confident and hopeful that a satisfactory solution to these issues will be found for the Gold Coast football community.
At present, the Gold Coast City FC participation licence remains with Palm Beach SC and no formal decision has been made regarding Gold Coast City FC for next season at this time.
The club believes that engaging in an ongoing commentary on these matter is not in the best interests of the consultation process.
As such, the club assures the Gold Coast football community that further statements will be issued only as respective matters are finalised in the interest of clarity.
